The Kansas City Chiefs wanted to grow their fanbase beyond typical NFL fans. So we created a fake rom-com movie trailer to speak to a young, female audience that didn’t watch football. That fake movie trailer turned into the biggest Hallmark movie ever. Our female target was successfully converted into the Chiefs fandom. And now, female Chiefs fans outnumber male fans — a first for any team in the history of the NFL.

The Fake Movie Trailer

Our spoof rom-com trailer was so popular, fans begged for it to become an actual movie. Then, the Chiefs and Hallmark answered their demands — recasting the same actors, celebrities, and football players to create what became the world’s first NFL rom-com.
